BBC two has announced  Daily Politics programme poll results .About two-thirds of the British people believe the Prime Minister Gordon Brown should call a General Election as early as possible, according to a ComRes poll conducted for BBC Two’s Daily Politics programme, broadcast today at 12.00noon.

When asked in the poll if they thought Gordon Brown should call a General Election at the earliest possible opportunity, 65% agreed, compared with 33% who disagreed. The poll also asked whether MPs named and shamed in the newspapers over their expense claims should be forced to stand down from Parliament. Again about two-thirds (64%) agreed, compared with 34% who disagreed.
