Thomas, who has been accused of allowing import of palm oil at a price that caused losses to the Kerala government, also cited a Bengal transaction on the same day in 1992 to claim that the rates quoted by the southern state was lower. “…Grave injustice is being done to an officer who has maintained the highest standards of integrity and has unfortunately been dragged into a controversy between two political leaders, which has subjected him to severe attacks on his honesty and reputation,” said a counter-affidavit filed on his behalf in court today.
