The defeat of the corrupt DMK-Congress alliance in Tamil Nadu will have an impact on national politics as the combine was hand-in-glove in the 2G scam, denied improvement of educational facilities to people and failed to eliminate hunger in the country, Communist Party of India (Marxist) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury said here on Monday.
Campaigning in support of CPI (M) candidate and sitting MLA. P. Dillibabu at Harur and addressing a public meeting at Karimangalam in Dharmapuri district in support of former minister and AIADMK candidate in Palacode constituency K.P. Anbalagan, he urged people to elect the AIADMK-led front candidates headed by former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa to weed out corruption. “People should vote for AIADMK-led front not only to weed out corruption but also to bring in a desirable change at the Centre by sending corrupt partners the DMK and the Congress home,” he said.
