The NCP-Congress government in Maharashtra has recently announced that action will be taken against the Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray. Finally, the right move, I think. But sadly, it took a threat to the ‘Congress Yuvraj’ and of course and what’s-his-name ‘Khan!’ –– to do so. Not the Bihari taxi drivers and others who are under constant threat.

But then, everything is politics! Yes, if something can personify Paul Thomas Mann’s –– ‘everything is politics’ theory –– it is the series of events involving Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena, or is it Shiv Sena’s Maharashtra?; and the other political bigwigs in the State – the NCP, the Congress and the BJP-RSS. While the Shiv Sena is under ‘radar’ for its malicious mischiefs and hooliganism, the BJP is for its partnership with the Sena –– the others in the State almost escape the scene easily.
