PATNA: Senior BJP leader and party's national vice-president Kalraj Mishra has accused Union home minister P Chidambaram of playing divisive politics by using the phrase " saffron terror ".

He also charged him with insulting the Indian ethos since the colour saffron had a symbolic value for religion and the country's national flag. The senior BJP leader, however, also said that the Union home minister should come out with clinching evidence against those involved in terror attacks. He alleged that Chidambaram, by using the phrase "saffron terror", was trying to appease Muslims. The phrase, in effect, was propelling the country towards division, he added.
