In fact, there were greater differences between the CPI(M) and its mother party, the Communist Party of India (CPI), than between the CPI(M) and the BJP, for example on the question of including millions of lower-class employees within the ambit of the Lokpal. Both the CPI(M) and the BJP want these employees included, a move opposed by the CPI with equal determination.
