Kolkata: Narrow political concerns and a partisan approach should not get the better of those engaged in relief distribution, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said on Tuesday, while on a visit to West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, a day after a cyclonic storm ripped through the area.

“I have told the district officials to work together,” he told journalists after visiting some camps sheltering those rendered homeless in the storm in the district’s Nimpith area. “It is the time for all to work united, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder irrespective of political belief,” Biman Bose, chairman of the Left Front Committee, said here.
