The leader of the Opposition, Partha Chatterjee, today blamed the state Congress leadership of playing “petty politics” over Ray’s death. “We condemn the kind of controversial politics some political parties are engaging themselves into after Ray’s death,” said Chatterjee. “These are the people who had always been very close to Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and they regularly pay tribute to the CPM. Whatever they say or do have no impact on the people of the state,” he said. The Trinamool Congress may arrange a memorial meeting to pay tributes to the departed leader, Chatterjee indicated.
