Documents unearthed today reveal that Balfour was arrested for drug possession back in June, but that state officials did not revoke his parole at the time. Technically he is not currently being held for the Hudson slayings, but for a parole violation after missing a meeting with his parole officer on Friday.

As for the murder case, the city's police brass have indicated that the city's surveillance cameras may have captured footage that will help their investigation come to a swift end. "I suspect we'll have some evidence that will link us to the killer," Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis said Tuesday, adding that, aside from labeling the killings as "domestic related," no motive has yet been concretely revealed.
