Held each Wednesday through Lent at The Presbyterian Church, the luncheons are coordinated by Sue Carlisle of the church and incorporate volunteers from various local churches. JoAnn Norman, president of United Methodist Women and also a Park United Methodist Church member, was in charge of making the beef vegetable soup for the first meal. "It is made with roast beef ... because I make it, I know," said Norman, adding that with her years of experience in making soups that there is no special technique. "You just throw it together ... as an old cook, you throw it together." A cream potato soup, made by the Fresno United Methodist Church, was also on the menu. Each week, the soups - and desserts - change. More than 180 attendees Wednesday selected their dessert from a table filled with peanut butter crème, peach, butterscotch, pecan, lemon and many other pies.Full Story: Crowd gathers for Lenten Luncheon - Coshocton Tribune
