And how did the little-seen "Hurt Locker" end up taking home the most Oscars (six) including the top prize against a field that included the blockbuster "Avatar," Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" and "Up In the Air"? For the film — made for just $11 million and grossing around $14 million during its summertime American theatrical release — the impact was immediate. On Monday, the DVD of "Hurt Locker" jumped from 13th place to third on Amazon.com 's DVD sales chart. It was the most-rented movie on Amazon's video-on-demand as well as Apple's iTunes service.
