Persistent rain, possible snow in forecast - Bolingbrook Sun

While much of the Chicago area deals with flooding from melting snow, more inclement weather is on the way in the form of rain, high wind gusts and possible snowfall.

Due to runoff from melting snow and the heavy rain that is moving into the area, a flash-flood warning remains in effect until 9 p.m. for several Illinois counties, including Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Nathan Marsili. As of 4 p.m., a weather service radar indicated rain continues to produce flash flooding. One to two inches of rain have already fallen over northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana. The equivalent of one to two inches of snow and ice melt has been released, the weather service said.
