Tiger Woods will return to rehab after making the first public statement today since shortly after his reported marital infidelity surfaced three months ago, according to a top PGA official.

"This is the time frame that met with his rehab schedule, coming out for a little bit, being with his family a little bit, it just worked," PGA Tour Commissioner Tom Finchem told "Good Morning America." "He needs to say how he feels about things, and how he's doing with what he set out to do." Finchem's comments could explain what many thought was curious timing for the statement, coming in the middle of the Match Play Championship, which is sponsored by Accenture, the first major company to drop Woods' endorsement contract in the wake of the scandal that linked the golfer romantically to more than a dozen women. Woods is expected to leave plenty of questions unanswered when he makes a brief statement at PGA headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. at 11 a.m. ET today.
