Nokia N900 now in India, first Linux Maemo 5 OS based handset - infocera

The most sought after mobile manufacturer, Nokia, has finally decided to end the eager wait of the people for N900. It has successfully launched the N900, in India which is supposedly the first Linux Maemo 5 operating system based handset with a processor of ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz, PowerVR SGX530 graphics, and is said to be available in the market by the end of June 2010. Nokia N900 is set to be at price Rs. 30,639 in India.

The Nokia N900 device has been called as the “internet tablet” and features a full QWERTY keyboard with 3.5 inches TFT resistive touchscreen with 65K colours, and Processor and 3D accelerator: TI OMAP 3430: ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz, PowerVR SGX with OpenGL ES 2.0 support.

The support of a 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus with 3X digital zoom, Dual LED flash, video light, 3D graphics accelerator with OpenGL ES 2.0 support, Stereo FM radio with FM transmitter makes the Nokia N900 mobile an almost complete entertainment box.
